Mini Budget 2022: no support for millions of pensioners

CSPA has expressed its disappointment at the Chancellor’s failure to address the winter crisis set to hit pensioners.

Kwasi Kwarteng’s first fiscal event appeared to offer no new help for Britain’s pensioners in the face of an unprecedented winter crisis.

“The new Chancellor's Fiscal Event said nothing at all about helping the millions of pensioners who are worried that their fixed-income pension will not cover their rapidly rising household bills. They need to know now that the value of the pensions they have earned in a lifetime of work will be protected from inflation and not further eroded, as happened in April due to the withdrawal of the State Pension triple-lock”

CSPA Deputy David Luxton, General Secretary
