Ahead of the 12th session of the United Nations Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing (OEWG), older people in Europe mobilise for equal rights in old age and ask their goverment to support a UN convention on the rights of older people.
We are equal in dignity and rights, regardless of our age.
Yet, during the COVID-19 pandemic or since the Russian invasion in Ukraine, the lack of protection for our rights in old age has prevented older people to receive adequate support, for example regarding continuity of care or humanitarian assistance.
